As the demand for mentorship continues to grow, so does the need for dedicated individuals like you to step up and make a difference in the lives of aspiring students. Standing Tall is actively seeking new volunteers to join our community of mentors and help us meet the rising demand for guidance and support.

What We Look for in a Mentor:

  • Passion for Empowering Others
    A genuine desire to help and empower others is at the core of being a successful mentor. Open-mindedness and compassionate are also strengths and qualities that make a great mentor.
  • Effective Communication Skills
    The ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and remain a neutral sounding board when supporting problem solving are strong mentor attributes.
  • Openness to Growth
    Mentors should be committed to the growth and development of their mentees and themselves. There is benefits for both mentors and mentees in this program.
  • Diverse Experiences
    We welcome mentors from various backgrounds and industries, each bringing their own unique skills, expertise, and interests to the program.


Mentor Expectations

To ensure the safety and well-being of our mentees, we have set clear expectations for our mentors:

  • Age Requirement
    Mentors must be over 21 years old to participate in our program.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
    All mentors are required to have or be able to obtain a valid Working with Children Check, demonstrating their suitability to work with young individuals.
  • Willingness to Undergo Screening and Training
    Prospective mentors should be open to undergoing a comprehensive screening process and participating in our mentorship training sessions. This ensures they are well-prepared and aligned with our program’s values and objectives.
  • Minimum One-Year Commitment
    We ask mentors to make a minimum commitment of one year to the program. This extended engagement helps foster strong and enduring mentor-mentee relationships.
  • Optional Driver’s License and Comprehensive Car Insurance
    While not mandatory, mentors with a valid driver’s license and comprehensive car insurance have the option to provide transportation support to mentees, enhancing accessibility to mentorship activities.
